About The Remnant

By January 1998 it was evident that the line we had drawn in the sand was about to be washed away. We hoped that the church would be put back on track like years before but that wasn't the case. The apostasy that had begun in the spring of 1986 was now nearly complete 12 years later. The line we had drawn, of course, was the 7th day Sabbath and the Holy Days of God and they were being squeezed out of the church.

As a local elder in the Franklin, Pa. WWCG I, (Rolland D. Wile), was given the ultimatum; cease preaching about the 7th day Sabbath and the annual Holy Days or your preaching days are over. With many tears and much agony I decided it was time to leave the church I had been baptized into for over thirty years. Just as the church at Ephesus had fallen away from her first love (the truth of God) and had replaced it with the myths and fables of 2 Timothy 4:4, so too had the Worldwide Church of God.

In 2 Thessalonians 2:3 we see this falling away from the truth of God. Verse 10 tells us that the church had received and understood God’s truth, but didn’t love it enough to keep it.

We believed we were leaving the WWCG so we would be able to worship God in the way the Holy Spirit led us, but looking back we realize that it was just time for God to raise up the remnant spoken of in Revelation 12:17.  We believe we are the part of that remnant and that the return of our Savior is near, (even at the door).

God raised up the Remnant Church of God on January 17, 1998. We are small in numbers but have a pastor, deacon, and a deaconess. We left the WWCG not understanding the testimony of Jesus but God has revealed to us that it is not our testimony about Jesus but rather Jesus’ own testimony, what He had to say, the red letters in the Bible. This is fully explained in John 3:31-34 and John 12:48-50. We understand it to be the message God the Father sent his Son to deliver to mankind. This message explains how God wants us to live our lives under the New Covenant in relation to him and our fellow man. We believe the testimony of Jesus constitutes the spirit in which all prophecy is delivered and understood as stated in Revelation 19:10.

Jesus said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away.” We believe that the testimony of Jesus Christ, the words he spoke, the message from the Father, will always exist to guide his people to eternal life.
