God's Holy Days 2017

Weekly Sabbath- The seventh day Sabbath (Saturday) was set aside as a physical and spiritual day of rest on which to worship God. This day will remain till all is fulfilled.

Passover-The New Testament Passover this year is on April 10th. It is observed the evening before (APRIL 9th) as the sun sets. It is observed with communion of unleavened bread and wine symbolizing the body of Christ which was broken for us and His blood which was shed for the remission of sins.

Days of Unleavened Bread- The Days of Unleavened Bread are observed this year on April 11th thru April 17th. The leavening is symbolic of sin. The Israelites were commanded to rid their homes of leavening and eat unleavened bread for seven days. These days now celebrate sin being put out of our lives.

Pentecost- Pentecost is observed this year on June 4th. It looks to the first fruit harvest of God's elect (His chosen ones). The Holy Spirit was also sent to reside in and help true believers in Christ on this day.

Feast of Trumpets- The Feast of Trumpets this year is observed September 21st. It pictures the return of Jesus Christ at the seventh trumpet blast in Revelation.

Day of Atonement- The Day of Atonement this year is observed September 30th. This high day pictures a future event of Satan the Devil (the one who causes all sin) being locked away for a thousand years so he cannot deceive mankind during Christ's thousand-year reign. Then the breech that Satan caused between God and man can be mended and then man can truly be at one with God.

Feast of Tabernacles These days are observed this year October 5th thru October 11th. These days picture the thousand-year reign of Jesus Christ.

The Last Great Day The Last Great Day this year is observed October 12th. This day pictures all opposition to God coming to an end. This means all who refuse to obey God will be thrown into the lake of fire. There will be new heavens and a new earth and the new Jerusalem will come down from heaven.

Preparations for this year's Feast of Tabernacles are underway.

"The Holy Day Controversy"

Have you ever wondered what holly, mistletoe, and a fat, old man in a red suit transported in a sleigh pulled by flying reindeer and giving gifts to children have to do with the birth of Christ—or how about sunrise services, hot cross buns, and brightly colored eggs being laid by a rabbit (of all things) depicting the resurrection of Christ. Does all of the horror, gore, and ugliness of halloween really have Christian roots? And then there is lent, all the revelry of New Years, and what’s good about good Friday anyway? If you’ve even questioned these days kept by most Christians then maybe you’re on the road to a spiritual discovery. Once you study into the origin of these days and what they really represent and understand the meaning behind the signs and symbols promoting these days, then your first reaction is anger; anger at being deceived into believing a pack of lies. Soon your anger turns to joy and happiness as you realize how blessed you are to have been fed the truth of God.
Why has the majority of Christian theology embraced the ways of this world and the days ordained by man while neglecting, even rejecting, the days ordained by God and relegating His statutes and judgments to a dark, dusty, spiritual attic. The answer lies in what the Remnant calls the “The Satan Factor” and the deception that follows man’s greatest enemy. Jesus said it all in John 8:44-45. He tells us that Satan deceives us with lie after lie and we swallow these untruths hook line and sinker and yet He (Jesus) tells us the truth and we don’t believe him.
Satan has deceived humanity into believing that the holidays being kept today throughout the world are biblical; while in fact nowhere in the biblical record does Christ, the Father, or the apostles tell us to keep Jesus’ birth or resurrection or to keep any man-made day holy. In Deut. 12:32 God tells the Israelite nation “Whatever I command you– do it but don’t add anything to it or subtract anything from it”.
God knew that mankind, through Satan’s deception, would follow his own ideas on which days are to be kept and thus we see God’s Holy Days vs. man’s holidays and we need to pray for understanding. We can acquire this understanding through the Word of God, but only those who have the eyes to see and the ears to hear will truly understand.
In II Thess. Ch. 2 God reveals through the apostle Paul what would rapidly occur in the church after his death. First there would occur a great falling away in verse 3. The Greek word apostasia is used here for falling away and can mean only one thing; a falling away from the truth. In verse 10 we see that the body of Christ had the truth but didn’t love it enough to keep it. In verse 11 God then allows them to believe a lie or false doctrine. II Tim 4:1-4 zeros in on the lies which were substituted for the truth. After charging Timothy and exhorting him in verse 1 and 2 he explains what will happen in the church of God. In verse 3 he explains the followers of Jesus will deviate from the truth (sound doctrine) and choose ministers who will preach what the people want to hear even though their preaching is dotted with lies and false doctrine. In verse 4 we see what is substituted for the truth of God—fables. The Greek word used here means myths or fairytales. What could better describe a fairytale or myth than Christmas, Easter, and Halloween with all of their superstition and folklore. Christmas with Santa Claus, flying reindeer, the magic of mistletoe and holly, and Easter with a rabbit that lays colored eggs fits the mode of a myth to a T.
Most of Christ’s followers even reject the only sign or proof that he said would mark him as the Messiah. In Matt. 12:38 Jesus was asked by the religious leaders of his day for a sign to prove he was whom he said. Jesus said the only sign given to an evil and rebellious world would be that he would be dead and in the grave for three days and three nights. The good Friday crucifixion—easter Sunday resurrection totally rejects this proof. Obviously one of these days is wrong, in fact both are wrong. For an explanation please request our free booklet “The Resurrection, Fact or Fiction”.
Believe it or not, one of Satan’s greatest deceptions has been to deceive the church into believing she couldn’t be deceived. This deception began soon after the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Paul wrote his epistles in the 50’s and 60’s AD and wrote about the future “falling away” in several of his letters. The book of Acts was written about the year 62 AD and quotes Paul’s prophecy in Acts 20:29-30. “For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you not sparing the flock.” “Of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things to draw away a following.” Perverse in the Greek means to distort, twist, or corrupt the scriptures. Peter wrote his epistles in the late 60’s AD and wrote about false teachers in the church at that time who were teaching heresy. Jude wrote his epistle in the early 80’s AD and wrote about false teachers in the church as well, teaching a false concept of God’s grace. Finally John the apostle who wrote in the early to late 90’s AD also wrote about the apostasy in the church of God.
Satan has counterfeited much of what God has instituted and commanded. He does this to hide the truth from the elect or first fruits God is calling out of this world. He especially wants to hide the meaning of the Holy Days of God, for they reveal the unfolding master-plan God is using to save and redeem humankind.
Most pastors preach that the Passover, Days of Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Feast of Tabernacles, and The Last Great Day are Jewish days and are not to be kept under the New Covenant. Lev. 23:1-4 shows us that these Holy Days are God’s Feast Days including the seventh day Sabbath and were given to the ancient Israelites being a type of the New Testament spiritual Israel mentioned in I Peter 2:9-10. Satan has deceived the whole world, (Rev. 12:9) through his false ministers and their false doctrine, 2 Cor. 11:13-15. The apostle Paul kept the Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread I Cor. 5:7-8 and I Cor. 10:28. All of the apostles were present and keeping the first New Testament Pentecost, Acts 2:1. Zech 14:16-19 tells us that God will make sure the people on this planet keep the Feast of Tabernacles during the thousand year reign of Christ and his saints.

True Christians Should Keep Godís Holy Days

Why should Christians under the New Covenant keep these Holy Days? First Lev. 23:4 tells us they are His Feast Days given to man to remind him of the one, true God and how He is going to save man from eternal death. The seventh day Sabbath was hallowed and blessed by God long before an Israelite existed, Gen. 2:3. In Mark 2:27 Jesus said, “The Sabbath was made for man—not Man for the Sabbath.” There was no mention of the Jew. The ancient Israelites (a type of spiritual Israel– the body of Christ, I Peter 2:9) were instructed to keep the Holy Days in a very physical way using the sacrifice and blood of animals through the Levitical Priesthood as a physical type of an atonement for sin. The real atonement, of course, is the body and blood of Jesus Christ through the Melchisedec Priesthood, but that in no way negates the importance of keeping the Holy Days as holy convocations and as a reminder of what Christ is doing for us.

Why do We Keep Godís Holy Days?

We keep the New Covenant Passover at sunset on the beginning of the 14th of Nisan as a memorial of the death of the Lamb of God. We keep 7 Days of Unleavened Bread showing our faith in the fact that Jesus was without sin. We keep Pentecost (or Feast of First Fruits) having faith that God is calling a people for his name out of this world to be his first fruits or the elect in the first resurrection. We keep the Feast of Trumpets showing our faith in the second coming of Jesus Christ in all power and glory. We keep the Day of Atonement showing our faith in the atoning power of Christ’s sacrifice and the reconciliation he makes for us with God the Father. We keep the Feast of Tabernacles showing our faith in the thousand year rule of Christ on this earth and the fact that we are living in temporary physical bodies and await the eternal spiritual bodies God will bestow upon us. We keep the Last Great Day showing our faith in what God has planned for us in I Cor. 2:9—of becoming a part of His family.

We hope you will join us in keeping these days as a memorial and a reminder of what Christ and the Father are doing for us. We know they will be pleased.

We'd love to have you at our weekly service
